Piazza Navona/Pantheon hotels?

After browsing through the message boards, it sounds like the above area would be a great area to stay in for a quick 2 day trip to Rome. We love people watching, having wine and/or espressos and good local restaurants and want to walk to most of the sights. Could someone give us several hotels to research? We are willing to pay $150-$250/night. I've looked at trip advisor and none of their top rated hotels seem to be located in these two areas???? Should we be considering some other areas??? Thanks for your help

Hi
We were in Rome 2yrs ago and stayed at the Santa Chiara. It's around the corner from the Pantheon, great location. It's within the price range you mentioned. They have a web site and are also on Venere.com. We would stay there again.

Lots of people here like the Hotel Portoghesi, including me. The due Torre is also good, as is the Teatro Pace33. The latter has less services, but much bigger rooms. All around 200 USD.

I miswrote: it should be Due Torri.

Do check each recommended hotel here, and on tripadvisor.com to see if the reviews paint a picture of something you might like or hate.

good luck
