phuket - ko phi phi in August
Greetings,
We'r planing to visit Phuket on the 15th of august, Weather forecast will show that there is rain in this period and couple of comments mentioned that it will rain for an hour in the morning only.
The plans are to have water activity , Beach and nightlife as clubbing.
It would be great to have your advice, especially the people who visited the place same time last year.

Well you realize you are on the Europe board altho there is a possibility folks will still give you friendly advice. When I planned my trips to Thailand, I used the forums on Tripadvisor and usually got answers very quickly. I did not go to either of the desitations you mention - just BKK and Hua Hin.

August is not a good time to visit any of the beaches in Thailand that are along the Andaman coast. On average, that area gets 10 inches of rain in August. In addition, the seas will be very rough, beaches are usually red-flagged. If you want to engage in water activities in August, you are going to the wrong beaches. Go to beaches in the Gulf go Thailand and you'll get better weather.
Comments that "it will rain for an hour in the morning only" are wishful thinking at best. Typical patterns are intense rain showers (often thunderstorms). The closer you get to September, the wetter it will be, as Sept on average gets 16 inches of rain.
