Photos of our Oct. Day trips to Giverny, Malmaison & Chartres

Finally have some of our photos sorted -- am starting with the day trips we took to Giverny, Malmaison, and Chartres.

Giverny is not as lush in late October (the gardens close Nov. 1) but we felt it was still well worth the trip -- hope to see them in spring and summer on future trips.

The link is as follows:

My written trip report is: 2 weeks in Paris

Wonderful photos. I especially liked the ones of Malmaison as I am planning to go there in June. Looks like you had beautiful weather. Made me excited for my trip.

Very nice. Looks like the day you were at Chartres was pretty grey but you still got decent photos of the windows.

sanderskn - hope you enjoy Malmaison. It's not as well known as the bigger estates, such as Versailles and Fontainebleau, but it's much more personal and intimate, which I appreciated. And it's so close to Paris and fairly easy to get to, so not sure why it's not visited by more people.

Nice...planning to get to Chartres on this trip! Dying to go to Giverny but have to stop going to France in December! Malmaison is also intriguing to me....maybe this trip.

denisea - I've read a number of December trip reports and Christmas in Paris sounds great, so I can well understand your going in December. Our family doesn't always get together at Christmas, so we may well go for Christmas next year. I think Paris is great in all seasons.
