I was in Amsterdam in March too and I'm spitting on my pictures . . . yours are GREAT! I'm almost embarrassed to put them in an album . . . my only hope is that my friends never find your beautiful website.

I am one of your fans- your URL is bookmarked - and I view your photos several times a month!
What time of day do you typically take your pictures? My travel photos seem, to have tourists/people in them, and it distracts the view that i'm trying to take. Doesn't look good. Tips please?

Thanks everyone for all your kind words. I love traveling and I love taking photos so it's nice to know that people appreciate them. So since you guys like my photos so much I guess I'll just have to take another trip and take some more (LOL). I know I love looking at other people's photos so it's only fair that I share mine.
My camera is a Nikon 5700 digital camera. It's not an SLR but it has all manual options and is excellent quality. And new for this trip was a wide angle adapter - it screws onto the lens and about doubles the amount you can get in each shot. The camera lens itself is a zoom (10X) so that allows close ups.
For the night shots I have a tiny (6 inch) tripod. You have to find something to lean it on but it does a great job of steadying the camera.
And in terms of getting shots without lots of people in the foreground, I often stand around for what my travel companions says is "forever" waiting to get the right shot.
Anyway, thanks again for the kind words.
