Photos from bettyk's Trip to Germany & Austria

Here's the link to our photos on Webshots. My husband took almost 1000 digital pictures over a 2-week period but only 100 are shown on the website. Hope you enjoy looking at them half as much as we enjoyed taking them!

Great shots, Betty. Thanks for sharing them with us. I, too, am ready to head back now....especially to Austria.

Betty, I really enjoyed taking your photo tour of Germany and Austria. It is indeed a beautiful area of the world.

We also take about a thousand photos on a couple-week trip. But not many people want to sift through the whole lot, so we usually pare it down to about 100 or so as well. Difficult job but you did it splendidly!

Thanks for sharing.

AMAZING! I loved your pictures and the places you visited, wow! Of course, now it's messing up my 2006 traveling plans. I was all set to go back to Venice, but seeing your pictures, I want to go to Germany and Austria.

I'm also a webshots member, and I've added you to my list of favorite members, so please feel free to add more pictures, I'd be excited to see them.

Did you write a trip report? I'd love to hear more about your trip!

Thanks for sharing the nice pics. We were in Rotherberg last year and loved it there and from your pics, castle Eltz looks like an amazing place and wish we knew about that and visited there too. But now there is a reason for us to go back soon. We are planning to go to Austria next year and looking at your pics makes me want to go right now.

Thanks, everyone. My husband will be thrilled to know that you all liked his pictures. And, yes, it wasn't easy trying to pare it down to just 100 -- I'm hoping that he will upload another "Album" soon. There are still so many lovely shots just waiting for an appreciative audience!

We never would have known about some of these places if it wasn't for comments found on Fodors. I combed thru so many posts on Germany and agonized over which places to leave in and leave out. All in all, I think I made some great choices! And, I have a list for our next trip!

lyb, I already posted a trip report and separate hotel review last week.

betty,

I'm going right over to find and read your trip report. You've truly given me the bug for Germany/Austria!

Well, Mary Fran, that's $64,000 question! Our friends want us to go back to Germany & Austria so they can tag along. I think my husband is ready for someplace new -- maybe Portugal. And me, well Germany & Austria would be OK (there's alot left to explore) or maybe go back and see more of Scotland. But, I've never been to Ireland or Wales. And, then there's Sweden, Denmark and Finland...

See my dilemma!!!

Wonderful photographs, Betty; tell David he has the eye of an artist. If your pictures and report don't woo folks to the Neckar valley, nothing will. I'm heading back to your trip report now to reread and make notes, especially re Dettlebach (sp?). Your picture of Hirschorn caught my eye. I think that might have been where we began our walk along the Neckar to the four fortress ruins. It's been such a long time. Ahhh. Danke. J.

Thanks for taking the time to post these. I'm going to Germany in late September (Munich tho) and then south to Provence on a driving trip.

Your pictures were beautiful and gives me sort of a visual "thumbs up"...

Thanks, J. David takes his photography seriously and does have a good eye. However, in some of thes places, it would have been hard to take a bad photo!

I wish we had explored even more of the Neckartal, it was gorgeous!

I don't think you'd go wrong with a visit to Dettelbach or Iphofen, both were well worth the time.

Thanks a lot Betty...now I want to go to Austria as well as the Mosel area...don't I already have enough must sees on my list?

The pictures are beautiful. My husband also takes MANY photos and it's my job to edit them down to something someone can look at and enjoy...you did a fine job of editing. (When I get tired of DH taking pictures on the trip I start to call him Photomaki and he tones it down)

Thanks, again to all of you who have taken the time to comment. Everytime I go back and look at pictures from our previous trips, it's almost like being there all over again.

From the Webshots link above, you can see some of the photos from our other trips to the UK in 2004, Maui in 2003 and Germany, Austria & Switzerland in 2002.
