Sandi and Ekscrunchy - I recommended Francesca Caruso as a tour guide. Keep in mind that her rate is not based on the number of people on the tour. It is the same hourly rate whether there is 1 or 10 people on the tour. I strongly recommend her - she is fantastic ...(and you can trust a fellow Texan!!)

I rec'd a response from her and she is being considered. She's 45 euro per hour, and assume that's per person. Quite costly.

We used Rich last summer. We booked him for two mornings, one was ancient Rome, ie the Forum area and the second day we did the Vatican. I highly recommend him.

An update: I rec'd an email from Alan Epstein. His rates for 8 hours is $1200.USD flat rate regardless of the number in your party. If you want a per hour rate it's $190. per hr with a 4 hour minimum. Not quite sure if that fits in my budget.

More to come...

Daniella Hunt was 50 euros per hour
(included both of us), and very much worth the cost.

Sandi - I am positive that the 45 euro/hr is NOT per person. Please double check with her.

You are correct about Francesca. She just responded saying that she was 45 euro per hour for all of us.

We also had great results with Daniella.

Walter, she probably could answer your questions (or many of them). We hired her because she also is good with kids. Yet, even on our tour, her depth of knowledge really showed. And left-field questions never threw her-- she had fun with them.
