As a result of your help we have finally managed to figure out what to do and have booked our trip! We decided in the end to stay 5 nights in Nea Monemvasia (in Topalti), 4 nights just outside Gythio (in Castello Antico) and 7 nights in Finikounda (in Fotis). We will visit Elafonissos, Diros caves and everything else mentioned above with our car which we will get from cheap but fine Economy Car Rentals.
