Parsifal or Bonadies in Ravello?
Hi All,
A little background. DH and I are going to Amalfi Coast in June. This is a second trip to Italy for us (a delayed 10 year anniversary trip). Last time we went to Italy it was to Rome and Venice (for a delayed honeymoon trip). So we are really excited!!
Here is the itinerary so far. 3 nights Positano at Poseidon, 2 nights Capri at La Minerva, 2 nights Ravello. We are planning to see a concert in Ravello so decided to spend a couple of nights. So does anyone who has been to both/or seen both Bonadies and Parsifal have a strong opinion either way.
I currently have a reservation at Bonadies for 240euro for superior with jacuzzi and a/c, but I just got the quote from Parsifal for 160 euro for valley view and includes half board.
Since I have not been, I am torn. Parsifal gets great reviews, the website makes it look quaint and it would save us some $ after spending a bit at Poseidon, plus with half board even more, unless we choose to eat elsewhere, but no a/c. Should I chance it being okay with no a/c in June in Ravello? Bonadies looks nice too. I am leaning more towards Parsifal, but would love to hear opinions either way.
Thank you in advance for any feedback/ideas.

My DH and an other couple went to the Amalfi Coast in October "06.We spent 6 days at the Poseidon and couldn't have loved it more. It is a great location with an italian market right out the door. We loved the bartenders Giovanni and Ginnaro (sp). They were closing for the winter soon after we left. They will just be reopening again in the beginning of March. You can walk anywhere. The food is fabulous right at the hotel. Our favorite menu item there was the seafood risotto. We are definetly food snobs and tasted seafood risotto at other restaurnats their's was the best. Another great restaurant was La Cambusa, it is down by the water. We wish we had gone there earlier and had not gone to Chez Black. We took the ferry to Amalfi and then hired a driver to get to Ravello. Beautiful drive up and a quiet undisturbed town. We bought our "Italian Ceramics" in Ravello. I forget the name. It was the shop at the church. Not your traditional looking ceramics. We also took the ferry to Capri. We did not do the blue grotto, it was very choppy and the sun was not out. We didn't think it would be worth the trip. We did walk to Villa Jovis. It is a long walk about 45 minutes and up a steep incline. We walked past some beautiful homes and the view was spectacular. When you get to the top it is even more amazing. Capri has unbelieveable shopping. Very Very expensive, but fun to window shop. We had pizza at La Cisterna. Yummy!
We still pinch ourselves that we were on the Amalfi coast. It was beautiful. I was not familiar with any of the hotels in Ravello.
I hope this was helpful to you. I'll check back if you have any questions and if I think of anythingelse. Have a fabulous trip.

Lizzyhd,
Thanks so much for the feedback. It all sounds wonderful. I love hearing from others who have been recently. I am really looking forward to Poseidon even more now. Especially after hearing of the fabulous food!!! Thanks for all of the other info too. I appreciate it. Will have to go to La Cisterna for pizza too. May just have to go with my gut on Ravello??? It looks so pretty, I'm sure we can't go wrong there.
