Where is your favorite place to purchase "Herbes de Provence" to bring home?

I don't have a favorite, as they are everywhere, in most supermarkets, Monoprixs, Franprixs, outdoor markets, specialty stores. I could be wrong, but it's always the same herbs more or less, and ones that you could easily mix on your own, so really nothing all that special. If you can find ones that include culinary lavender, that's a possible bonus.

since it is easily available everywhere in the US, do you really need to take some home? <i>Most </i> US blends do include Lavender, <i>most</i> French blends don't -- though vice versa is also available.

As is said, why? So many other things to bring home like saffron or dried morels or>>>>>

Maybe some black pepper while you're at it.

Every supermarket sells herbes de Provence. However, if you go to a hypermarket, you can find big 500g bags of it for next to nothing as barbecue season arrives in France.

Get the big bags, they are inexpensive and very easy to pack. When you arrive home, you can either give away smaller amounts that you present in small muslin bags or keep your Herbe de Provence supply as fresh as possible by storing it in smaller airtight bags.
