Can anyone tell me what to expect, as far as weather, in Paris during early Nov. Thanks

Good question! I'll be in Paris during the same period and I'm not sure what kind of coat to pack. I was thinking of taking a jean jacket and a longer lightweight wool coat. Since I'm in Florida, I've lost my perspective on cold weather.

I read the original post and wondered if I had asked this last year! <LOL>
But I was in Paris the last week of November. I wore my dress coat on the plane and packed my rain coat with a zip in liner. Glad I had both. Only 1 day of real rain...several days of really warmish... If pushed into a corner because of an insistence to pack light, I could have done just with the raincoat.

Early November might be pretty good. SuzieC's experience is indicative of that. On the other hand, I was there in mid-November one year and had freezing rain and cold damp weather for most of a week. It's difficult to predict, but an average high temperature in Paris is about 50 degrees F, with the average low around 40. If you go by averages, you'd probably just take a jacket with a raincoat, perhaps with a liner. Bring a compact folding umbrella. Good luck.

Cuddleduds or something similar are very lightweight, easy to pack and help cut any cold or wind in the event things are chillier than you expected. I travel March/April and Sept/Oct and always take them (and usually wear at least the camisole).

I was just there last year. I wore a leather jacket with a light sweater and of course my scarf. I didn't need gloves while there. But I would still pack cuddleduds and gloves just in case. I am trying to go again this year but hoping the rates will go down a little more in airfare. Ok, I am being stubborn but still want to pay less than $458 for my ticket.

We will also be in Paris (late November). I'm planning on a heavy raincoat with removeable liner. Hope thats enough. Also bringing a warm sweater that will fit underneath.

Dear trumps,
CuddleDuds are the name of a popular brand of winter-type undergarments. They are made of a soft, stretchy knit fabric that is a bit heavier (and less expensive) than the pure silk knit winter undergarments which are also popular. I've seen them mainly in the women's lingerie department of big stores - don't know if they produce a line (Cuddle Dudes!) for men. But then I don't hang out in the men's lingerie section too often.

it snowed outside of paris the early nov. we went -cannot remember if it was 2001 but i think so...cuddleduds, muffler, gloves..used them all

We were in Paris the first week of November in 2002. It was fabulous! The plane trees had turned by then, the fallen leaves carpeted the streets like gold.

We had also been there in mid-October. Oct. was rainy and very cold...even sleet a couple of times. By the time we returned in November there was just an occasional shower. It wasn't as cold. I wore boots everywhere and was perfectly comfortable even inside. I would say you need a good jacket and scarf. Buy gloves there if you need them...they make a great souvenier.

..hit weatherunderground for historical averages..It tends to be a very grey month. A trench coat (or jacket) with a zip in lining works..drizzle has never melted anyone.

was in paris in early november last year. it rained the first day we were there, then it was gorgeous the rest of the time! sunny & 70's. but i guess you should prepare and bring layers. i'll be in amsterdam the same time this year and bringing light jacket and sweaters for layering.
