Paris Weather - hot/cool - Anyone Know?
We leave Friday for Paris for 10 days and although I heard that it has been hot, I see on the web that it is pretty cool. That could change some of my packing. I'm mostly layering, so I guess I'd only throw in an extra jacket and/or sweater.
If anyone has been recently, or better yet, there now, I'd love to hear from you.

Check weatherunderground.com. A few weeks ago it was very warm when I was there, 70F's at least. The week before that it was boiling. August is usually a very warm month on the whole. But Paris's weather is very changeable, however, it should remain warm. It does rain no matter what time of year it is so bring an umbrella. Yes, do throw in your extra jacket.

My motto for Paris in the summer is to remember the line from the *very* old song, "I love Paris in the summer when it sizzles". I say be sure you are prepared for sizzling!! There is a reason that line in the song was written....

It's impossible to know the weather that far in advance. However, it's safe to say that August in Paris is generally hot, and it has been getting hotter in August each year for the last decade or so. Temperatures can sometimes exceed 100° F, which was science fiction only a decade ago; but global warming is changing things.
This month of August has been seasonal thus far, with highs in the low 70s. Everyone calls it "cool," but actually the temperatures are simply within the normal range—it's just that "normal" temperatures are becoming more and more rare in August ("heat waves" are becoming the norm). If the current weather continues, you'll have a very pleasant stay, but there's simply no way to know in advance what it will be like a few days from now.
At this very instant (7 AM local time), it's about 57° F outside, which is seasonal. It will probably get up to the low 70s today. Humidity is 88%, so it feels warmer than it actually is if you are moving.
