Paris: Village St-Paul ... Lunch and Best Day to Visit?

While in Paris I'd like to take my mom to see the Village St-Paul and its many antique dealers.

* Are there preferred days to visit to not miss the vendors?

* Is there a nice, elegant village lunch spot where a son & daughter-in-law could take their 70 year old mother?

Thank you!

Not elegant but good food Le Bouquet St Paul, you won't find much elegant around there! You could cross the river and try Le Grand Vefour. Also some good place onrue charlemange

The Village St-Paul is overpriced and overhyped, IMO. And not much in the way of elegant dining around there. I loved La Guirlande de Julie on the Place des Vosges, but it's closed now.

When I went through the Village St. Paul in the morning it was fairly deserted. Most shops were closed. Much better in the afternoon. I found some very nice shops along the rue St. Paul, bought some jewelry I love.

I don't really do elegant, so I am not sure about an elegant lunch. But I did stop in at a cafe for an ice cream that looked like it did a nice enough lunch on the southeast corner of rue St. Paul and rue St. Antoine. Googling the location makes it look like it's Au Bouquet Saint Paul.

The Village St. Paul itself is a series of connected courtyards, and I did see a couple of restaurants in there but did not try any of them.

As an aside, the Louvre des Antiquaires is a three story
buiding across from the Louvre, on Rue Rivoli. It has a lot of high end antique dealers.

I like the village. Only place I ate near it was on Rue St Antoine, Chez Manon, which is not elegant, but a sandwich shop

Why not just head down to the Seine and cross over to Ile St Louis? Some nice restos there, I've eaten at the Brasserie de L'Ile St Louis, which is located near the bridge to Ile de la Cite, and has outdoor tables with views of Notre Dame, Pantheon, people walking over from the other island.

Not in the Village, but there are two nice places a few blocks away by the Pont Louis Philippe. Chez Julian is chic; Cafe Louis Philippe is traditional. Some views of the Seine from upstairs at the latter, but they are reached by a smallish circular staircase. Check Tripadvisor etc to see if you'd like the menus.

I can highly recommend a restaurant on Rue Charlemagne which is in the heart of Village St.Paul.
LE BISTROT DES COMPERES AT 16 Rue Charlemagne.
The owners and staff are fabulous and food is really very very good,

I believe they are closed on Monday. I rented an apartment on that block last year and that quickly became a favorite restaurant.

Thank you for all the helpful responses. I'll check out the restaurant suggestions and definitely the Louvre de Antiquaries.
