Okay, with Kerouac's help I have found a woman who worked with Gerard and she has given me the proper email, we think.

She says he is known to be a very kind person.

So I have emailed him a thank you note.

How very kind of Kerouac! What is the french word used for cheering? The equilivant of "rah rah rah"? Whatever it is, I say three of them!

I keep obsessively clicking on this to find out the results. I suppose I should then consider myself pathetic, but I'm unashamedly enjoying this whole adventure, regardless of the outcome (hope it's good!).

I am going out of town for 3 days on Sunday and won't have internet access!! Aaggghhh! I feel like I might miss the exciting conclusion to a great mini-series! I am hopeful of seeing a new post from Mahya2 on Saturday. I am sending positive vibes to you and to Gérard.

It's possible we'll be left hanging until at least Monday, if the e-mail reached Gerard's office after he had left for the weekend.

Here is my ending to this adventure of the heart:

Gérard is found, virtually penniless since every euro he had has gone toward paying a team of detectives searching the entire Sunshine State for a certain femme fatale. He is gloriously happy to be in contact with the enchanting Mahya2!

Meanwhile, another avid Fodorite, and coincidentally, CEO of a certain fabulously successful perfume house, has been following the Trip Report, waiting to see whether the mysteriously perfumed Mahya2 would find her equally mysterious suitor, Gérard. He is overjoyed when Mahya2 posts that she and Gérard have indeed been reunited.

The CEO dreams of a complete marketing campaign featuring the fetching Mahya2 and the gallant Gérard. Millions go into tv, print, and internet advertising. Millions more go to Ridley Scott as he directs a blockbuster movie with Angelina Jolie as Mahya2 and George Clooney as Gérard. Mahya2 and Gérard are recipients of 10% of the gross revenues and become wildly rich. And ultimately, they retire to their summer chateau overlooking the Loire.

Fin.

You are a woman with a good business mind.

I love that ending.

Somewhere I read that Catherine Deneuve who had her own perfume, lives somewhere in the 6th arr.Your ending reminds me of her and a perfume named for her.

I used to have a bottle - difficult to obtain, at least over here, and I used it very sparingly so it did last for years- had about a 1/3 of a bottle left about a year ago, when it fell on my hard tile floors.
Fini. But they say Fragonard can imitate any perfume.

Newman Parker

People posting on this thread are lovely, sentimental, and of a romantic nature, and have been quite caring and concerned which is heartwarming.

Not one has been mean spirited. Until your post.
Enjoy your travels and threads - elsewhere Thank you.

Mahya2,

Good Heavens, I have had to stay up just to read to the finale of this adventure! You will never forget this memorable trip. I loved reading it - thanks for the best romance novel I have read in awhile!

I want to ask a question: I am taking my Mom & Aunt to Paris this Tues. night & finishing up my trip planning. (I acually was going to just put off the final items & do them from my laptop in Paris - your cautionary tale about your internet connecion has definately changed my mind). I checked on the internet about the concerts at St. Chapelle - if I read right it looks like there are 7:00 concerts alot of nights. There are some 7:00 Vivaldi concerts that sound good for us - of course in all my scribble-scrabble I wrote down the dates & times, but now I am not exactly sure what website I went to to get the info - Yikes! Do you usually order your tixs on the internet, or what? I remember that I could order them from the site (part of the reason I am unsure about it all is that it was in french!) & pick them up at the Virgin Megastore? - does any of this ring a bell with you Fodorites? Please refresh my memory on how to order/get St. Chapelle concert tickets.

Also, if you have any details we should know - e.g. how early to arrive, are the actual seats reserved or is it general admission, where to sit, etc. And of course that eternal question: what should we wear?! (In addition to my Bobbi Brown eye liner, which I also adore).

So thank you, thank you all for any assistance. How does anyone plan a trip without the Fodorites?!

Ridley Scott is a director...he has wonderful scenery in his movies. I just think he would do you, Gérard, and Paris justice.

seriously if that is possible ....

I have had what you probably had....an A-fib attack.....it has happens as well to my brother.....Ive had all the tests... it is caused by scarring in the upper chamber and gets more frequent as we get older....stress can cause it to come on....if it gets bad they will do ablation (if it happens frequently)I will almost always happen when you are resting...

The main danger is when it can cause blood clots to form when your beat recovers....so the preventative thing is to take a baby aspirin a day!!!Ive often worried about having an attack on a trip.....

ML MOM

the first thing I do is buy a Pariscope "magazine" at any newsstand when you get to Paris. It tells all the churches and other venues having concerts and what they are playing, including
St Chappelle. Only once have I called up and asked them to hold tickets for me, and they said to be there at 6:30. Otherwise I have just walked up to the entrance and bought the tickets without reservations. But if you get there at 7PM they wont let you in, as I have unfortunately found out

Thank you ML MOM for your good wishes.

I just love everyone on this thread and I think we should all agree on a date to meet in Paris for one big GTG lunch Wouldn't it be great. ((((((hugs)))))
