Paris Trip Ideas ( Hotel & Airline)
A young fried of my daughters has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and given three to six months to live. Another friend would like to treat her to a trip to Paris the end of April. The two young women wanted ideas for hotels that were not too expensive. Has anyone found any good airline deals for this destination? Any help would be appreciated. The young woman, who is planning the trip is working and does not have time to do much research.

Sabrina, you might want to work with the Make a Wish Foundation (www.wish.org), an organization that may help fund this trip.
Bonne chance

Thanks for your help. Betsy, this is an adult, not a child. I thought "Make A Wish" was only for children. Thanks for the idea. I really appreciate all suggestions. I have been doing a bit of research on this forum. Everyone has been so helpful, when I have planned trips.

To dovetail Betsy's post:I recently heard Priscilla "Elvis" Presley on Larry King-CNN talking about her involvement with a foundation granting wishes for adults with terminal illnesses. Maybe check the programming notes for more information or search websites with Priscilla bio. info.? Best wishes!

The only help I can offer is that right now, the cheapest airfares to Paris from US seem to be on American Airlines. Check their website www.aa.com and also compare to www.autoeurope.com (who also has cheap fares, many are AA, I guess). British Airways was having some good sale fares also a while ago, so you might check them if American doesn't work out.
There are so many cheap Parisian hotels that it's kind of hard to recommend any in particular. YOu'll find lots in recent posts on here, and it does depend on the style they want and features or amenities.
Just a few possibilities are:
7th arr/Eiffel Tower --
Hotel Muguet
Hotel du Champ de Mars
Latin Qtr:
Hotel St Jacques
Hotel des Grandes Ecoles
Hotel du Lys
HOtel College de France
hotel Cujas Pantheon
Hotel Familia
St-Germain:
Hotel des Grands Balcons
Hotel Bonaparte
HOtel Clement
Marais/Bastille:
Hotel Jeanne d'Arc
Hotel Castex
Grand Hotel Malher
Eurocheapo is a good idea, www.parishotels.com and www.france-hotel-guide.com and www.123france.com all have budget hotels (most of above in there somewhere) www.timeout.com has a good listing of hotels by price range and descriptions

We got internet rates for AirFrance for $487 person for mid-April; Icelandic has good rates if you can leave from their east coast hubs (Boston, Baltimore, maybe others); I was on their e:mail list and they often have two-fer deals.
