Paris to Reims

I booked a bus tour and it was the highlight of that trip. However, it depends on what you prefer. *I* am too lazy to do the extra research on the history & highlights of these day-trip destinations, so for me a tour is worth the price. Not to mention, if you drink all the champagne put before you, you don't have to worry about finding your way back! And, while tours generally serve mediocre lunches, this one was pretty good! Sorry--I can't remember if it was Parisvision or Cityrama....I just remember boarding on the Rue Rivoli.....

Anyway, just offering one perspective.

We took the train to Reims. We had arranged in advance a tour of our favorite champagne house which is Lanson. After the tour we went to Les Crayeres and had a marvelous lunch. Then we went to the cathedral to see the stained glass windows. From there to the train station and back to Paris. It was a great day.
