Ann..I LOVED La Rochelle! I had what was probably the best meal of the trip at Bar Andre, next to our hotel. (We also ate at Les Flots..I will do a small food report when I get settled back home)
And the 17th was a revelation. I fell in love with that area. Our apartment (home of friends) was across the street from the Marche de Ternes. There is so much fantatic food shopping in that area and the architecture is absoutely stunning! And excellent Metro access at several stops. We also ate at a superb restaurant, Bath's, on Rue Bayern. Oooh la la!! That is THE area in which to rent an apartment; I can't say enough how terrific it was. I enjoyed being away from the usual tourist track for once!
