Paris to Budapest - air or drive?
We need to get from Paris to Budapest .
I looked at rail and it seems expensive, $488 and overnight trains do not attract us.
I also looked at air, and there are no nonstop decently priced flights for our date Oct 20. Malev/AF only has bus class leff for $1000 or so..
There are $200 flights Oct 20 on BA but connects in London of course and total flight time will be 6hrs with arrival to BUD at 11pm or so....
On Oct 21, there is Air Berlin around noon, but also connection in DUS with toal time approx 4.5 hrs.. leave at noon arrive 16:05..
My husband likes to drive everywhere and he said let's drive from Paris and drop off car in Bud. This is combination of business and pleasure trip of 25 days in Europe, and we are renting a car later on in Czech republic, but other than that, we only visit cities: Paris, Budapest, Vienna, Prague (with countryside , week with a car), then Dresden and Berlin.
So we do not need car all the time.
Has anyone done driving from Paris to Budapest. Is it scenic? We are OK driving either in countryside and autobahns or highways. Any suggestion for making this adventure pleasurable?
I mapped it and looks like 13hrs.. We can overnight in Germany somewhere in a nice Romantik Hotel or country inn.. Is it crazy or should we just fly Air Berlin via DUS,
I seems to be asking weird questions lately..
