Just thought of something else. The tiny little restaurant La Cigale at 11 bis rue Chomel (Métro : Sèvres-Babylone)is a treat (one that Beatchick turned me on to, thank you - we had a great lunch there last spring). It serves only soufflés - sweet and savory.

offering online reservation for both hotels and restaurants. They break it down nicely like "restaurants open Sunday night"...and by cuisine..and by district...then in 1 case was a menu with prices otherwise the pictured chef would just recommend his menu that night (My kinda thinkin!)

StCirq, I found a bunch of used copies of what appears to be 'Pariswalks' but they are of varying page length and publication date. Would the one you're referring to be subtitled 'A Close of of the Left Bank' by any chance? It sounds like a great book, I would just like to get the same one. Thanks!

Right down the street at 6 rue Jacob, check out l'Huilerie Artisanal J. Leblanc et Fils for mustards and flavored olive oils. I also got a tampenade while there in Sept but haven't tried it yet. This is a tiny store with great things! Also really nice olive oil soap if you're interested. Note that they don't take credit cards

This sounds like a great full day adventure. Does anybody have any additions or updates on the places mentioned. I need to get a map and plot out the route.

May I add to the info on St. Sulpice? If you go to the mass on Sunday, you will see a line forming near a door at the rear of the church after the mass. If you wait patiently, you will be escorted up many stairs to the organ loft to see the organist play. It's quite an impressive sight. I even got to touch the organ keys. (I play).

We also attended an organ concert in the afternnon and were amazed at the crowd. We walked in at 4 in the afternoon expecting a few people. There were a few thousand it seemed and nary a chair in sight.

I accidentaly visited St. Sulpice on a Saturday, when they were celebrating first communion (I think).

The contrast between the deep basso of the organ and the soprano of the children singing was just lovely.
