Paris Private Tour Guides

I'd like to hire a private car and tour guide for a day tour of Paris. Can you recomend a reliable tour company or comment on any of these below:

Panache
Waticar
Best of France Tours
International VIP Services

Thanks for your help.

not familiar with any of those. Many people here have used Michael Osman (sp?) and been very happy with him.

I had a photo tour with Barbara Pasquet James. She was great! I've seen her on a few different sites, here is one:
http://www.paristalks.com/

here is where I actually booked the photo tour:

good luck!

We recently returned from our first trip to Paris, and spent
a day with Scott Emerson. Scott works with Michael Osman(whose email is [email protected].)They don't use a car in the city; we took the Metro and walked places. They are very reasonable, will spend the entire day with you, meet you at your hotel or apt. and get you back there at the end of the day, and take you wherever you want to go. We had a great time and learned alot. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Had friends who used Panache, didn't like them, too expensive as well. Don't know the others, but can recommend also Michael! He's great!

A car is not necessary (and not recommended) for a day tour of Paris.

Here's another huge recommendation for Michael and Scott, who will customize the day to your preferences.

I went onto the website of Heather Stimmler, Euro600 per day!!! whewh, that makes it around $900 (without a vehicle). Think Michael is better value, also Paris Walks as well.

I second the recommendation for Barbara Pasquet James!
My family and friends and I did a wonderful walking "chocoholic tour" with her in June, 2007. She knows
her chocolate, that's for sure, but she also offers many other types of talks and tours. The chocolate tour is the only only tour I've taken with her, though. Her rates were very reasonable. I contacted her through paristalks.com.

If you search "paris chocolate", you should find a thread titled "Paris chocolate walking tours" started by vanne, where I just finished writing a much longer description of our tour with Barbara...if you're interested.

I've been talking to Bruce and Veronique McAleer from French mystique tours - you might want to check them out. they seem to be very reasonable.

We've used Michael Osman and Scott Emerson for several years now. We always see something new in or around Paris, learn a lot and have fun!

I hope you are not implying Bruce topped this?

Bruce does great biucycle tours of the outskirts of Paris and as far as you might want to go!

Looks like a post above the one about Bruce was removed.
I did not look at the original date when I replied.

"<i>I hope you are not implying Bruce topped this?</i>"

Uh - no . . .

Please note the deleted post <u>above</u> lauramsgarden's post. The thread was topped by a new member/first time poster who registered to flog some <i>other</i> tours.
