Paris or Nice?

I have the opportunity to spend 1 extra day in either Paris or Nice. They are both wonderful cities so it is difficult to decide.

I would love to know, given the choice, which city you would prefer to spend an extra day in. Please include a reason, if you wouldn't mind. Thanks!

You say they are "both wonderful cities" but have you been to either one? There's a reason that people rave about Paris and you don't hear as much about Nice..they are entirely different in terms of charm and outlook...don't know what you like to do but I'd opt for Paris..and the "reason" you need..well, because we all TOLD you to!!!!!

I have spent a fair amount of time in both cities and, as much as I like Nice, there is just no comparison -- use that extra day to do something else in Paris!

It really depends what you like to do. Beach, strolling the Promenade des Anglais, Vieux Nice, hilltown villages, or Paris and it's wealth of possibilities. I don't think you'll regret staying an extra day in either place...

I think it depends upon how long you ALREADY have in each place, whether you've been to either before and what you want to see/do. I know from previous posts you've already been to the cote d'azure & you're planning on a Giverny day trip. Are there other day trips from Paris that interest you?
