Paris or Germany??
We're trying to decide how to use some frequent flyer miles next spring -Paris or Germany. If we go to Germany, we would probably go to the Rhine area, Rothenburg, Munich and Neuschwanstein. If we go to Paris, we'd spend a week there and take several day trips outside the city. Anyone who has been to both have a preference/opinion? Thanks!!
Kendra,

Have been to Germany four times and Paris three, and what a tough choice!
Have been to Munich, Heidelburg, Rothenburg, Freiburg, Koln, Trier, and almost everywhere in between. Am leaving for Munich Tuesday for business, check my e-mail address and you'll see why, and I love Germany!

However, for one week in the Spring...I would personally take Paris and save Germany for the Fall. I think that it's really a personal preference, but Paris in the Spring is magnifique!

I am conviced also that you could spend your entire week in Paris and limit your day trips to one, perhaps Versaille. Just consider the following...Muse D'Orsay, Louvre, Notre Dame, Sacre Coure, Montmarte, Arch De Triumphe, Eiffel tower, Orangerie, Picasso Museum, Boluevard St. Germain, Museum of Modern Art and about 5000 brasseries with wonderful wine and cheese. I think you get the picture...a week in Paris may not be enough.

If you choose either, e-mail me and I'll be glad to share some tips based upon our previous travels.

Oh my what a tough choice!

Tough choice!! Southern Germany has some of the most scenic countryside I have ever seen. The small towns in Bavaria are quite beautiful, and King Ludwig's castles are amazing. Paris on the other hand is incomparable. If you like museums, monuments, and historical sites then Paris has no peer. If I had to choose I would pick Paris, and then make Germany the following year.

No matter where you decide to go, You'd better check with your frequent flyer airline. Most have very limited seating for frequent fliers. Tried to use my last year with Delta about 10 months in advance and everything was booked. Had to be wait listed for about 4-5 months before I got a confirmation.

Been to Germany and Paris many times. If you haven't been to Paris, That's the place to go.
