My (adult) daughters and I will be in Paris in a couple of weeks and we'd like to have dinner one night in a Moroccan (or other North African) restaurant featuring tajines, couscous etc. Later that evening we plan to do a Seine cruise with Vedettes du Pont Neuf. Looking for a convenient location, I have found Le Méchoui du Prince in the 6th that has pretty good reviews and is a reasonable walk to the cruise pier. Just wondering if anyone here has dined there, or if anyone would recommend anywhere else within a reasonable distance from the Pont Neuf. Hope so.

We liked La Bièvre in the 5th very much last fall. Great couscous selections and very reasonably priced. I don't know how it relates to the location of Pont Neuf, but la Fourchette's listing has a map. Also la Fourchette makes reservations for you and gives a 30% discount, but the food is the thing. The table gets a vat of vegetables and broth and an extraordinary amount of couscous grains, and you make your choice of excellent meats. The appetizers and desserts were also quite good.

Edit: I did a Google Map search. The restaurant is opposite the other end of the Ile de la Cite' from the Pont Neuf.

La Bièvre is across the street from François Mitterrand's former house, and he dined there regularly. Back then the place was called the Fort National, but they finally changed their name because it sounded too much like something else.

Yahmi, at 25 avenue Victoria, is also considered to be quite good.

Interesting about the Mitterand connection to La Bièvre.

We ended up at Yahmi, mostly due to its proximity to the Pont Neuf. It was indeed very good. The three of us shared a couscous à sept légumes, a tagine de poulet au citron confit, a brochette de poulet and a bottle of wine for €82. The food was tasty and the service very pleasant. The walk to Vedettes across the river was interesting as there is some kind of art installation at the Conciergerie that diverts river water through some wooden sluices.
