If anyone is interested I just received yesterday an offer from Hotel Brighton for rooms, ticket to Monet and basket of goodies upon arrival. We have stayed at this hotel several times and I think it is a great one for price and location.

We got our Monet tickets for the holiday, this is very exciting, can't wait until December 18th, I am so ready for a Paris fix and Monet - wow this is a good thing.

Hi RTRYS,

i looked at the hotel Brighton and its sister Saint Severin, and there was no mention of the offer that was sent to you. do you know where it is on the website?

regards, ann

Based on everyones enthusiasm, I changed our vacation itinerary to include the Monet exhibit. I booked the tickets on line with some difficulty. When I made the purchase, I requested three tickets. They asked for the name of ticket holder #1, but did not request the names of the other two parties. Now I have one ticket for three seats (?) in my name. I simply want to know if that will get all three of us into the Grand Palais Monet exhibit. Should I have purchased three tickets one at a time? What do you advise?

Is "Le Boulevard des Capucines" in the exhibit? (How I wish to see that without having to go to Kansas City).

Mlle FiFi,

I didn't buy the catalogue but am 99% sure it's not in the exhibit; I used to live in KC and was hoping to see it.
Give KC and the Nelson a try, you might be pleasantly surprised. And there's always the barbecue...

Cathinjoetown,

You're right, I found a list of all the works in the exhibit, and none of the Grands Boulevards paintings are in it.

The Nelson is tempting, but I can't justify buying a plane ticket for one painting, even for my favorite Monet. (I did take a day trip just for Winterhalter's "Empress Eugenie surrounded by her Ladies in Waiting", but that was only a short train ride).

There's a newish extension to Nelson Atkins, and the Chinese art collection is actually quite renowned. I think one of the best is the Fisherman's scroll. Schedule a visit when it's on view so you have more on your list than a Monet painting.

Hi,
Will be there in 10 days and wondering how far in advance to buy tickets. I don't want to be locked into a schedule there. Does anyone know how sold out the show is? Do you think I can buy a ticket in advance for the next day or might those be sold out?
By the way, has anyone taken the Monet Gardens bike tour?
Thanks. You are always and always soooo well informed!

I just checked the digitik.com website. Looks like no more availability for October. As previous posters have said tickets are going quickly.

bdgirls, I booked two tickets and they only asked for one name. I am sure that it will be okay.

< I booked two tickets and they only asked for one name. I am sure that it will be okay.>

This is how the St. Chappelle concert e-mail tickets are done as well- with one name only. They just verify the # in the party upon entry; the name doesn't matter.

I purchased admission tickets for three. All printed on one page. Great paper savings!

Lovely to see online from all over world my favorites from Orsay and the Louvre, and my hometown Met & MOMA. Last time I was in Paris I went out to Giverny for a weekend amemory I cherish.

annhig - I just saw your post and went back through some emails and I so apologize, it is the Rivoli promotion from the Brighton with the goodies of champagne and fruit basket, good room rates and right next to the posting is a Monet exhibit advertisement. But we did get our tickets where we are staying in December from Hotel du Louve. They are holding our tickets with our booking. Again sorry that you did all that searching.

RTYS - don't worry - it was fun searching! the Brighton is a bit out of our price-range, but there are other hotels in that group that look closer to what we'd like to pay.

thanks for coming back about it.
