Sandra--the Crillon, the George Cinq, or the Meurice are the 3 that come to mind in the ultra luxury splurge. <BR>Have been in a 1 bedroom suite in the Meurice and the living room is around 15X18! The bath comes with full size Christian Dior /or Hermes bath products--can remember exactly--but they were full size for you and your husband--they sent up champagne ( the real GOOD stuff) and fruit basket--absolutely amazing..If you book any of thes hotels, tell them it is your anniversary. They may have something special waiting in your room--heck-it's worth a try.

If you decide to do something less than the top of the line luxury hotels, you might want to consider Hotel Costes. Is is a smaller, more "in" type of hotel, but we stayed there for 9 days and were impressed. The decor is very over the top (Jacques Garcia) and the rooms, though not large, overlook the Italianate courtyard where the restaurant is. The pool is exquisite. We arrived there and went out for a while. When we returned, there was an excellent basket of exotic fruits and 2 dozen roses in our room. It is not "Old Paris" (the doormen do not wear uniforms, but black pants and shirts), but a very interesting place. Two years ago, our mid-range junior suite of 3 small rooms (sitting room, bedroom, bathroom - railroad style with 5 windows overlooking the courtyard) was $400.00 per night. Good luck with your search.

Previously posted, and I realize that this is not the same as (or as good as) a firsthand personal report; still it comes from a reliable source: <BR> <BR>=================================== <BR> <BR>Some stay at the newly refurbished Plaza Athénée for Alain Ducasse's starry restaurant (guests have priority), others because it's convenient to the couture meccas of the Golden Triangle, but its real allure is the cosseting by 460 experienced staff. 187 rooms and suites. 25 Avenue Montaigne, 8e (01-53-67-66-65; fax: 01-53-67-66-66). Doubles from $550. <BR> <BR>============================== <BR> <BR>from: "Paris: An Insider's Address Book" <BR> <BR>http://www.nytimes.com/library/magaz...tra-paris.html <BR> <BR>Requires registration to read - - but it's nevertheless free. <BR> <BR>Best wishes, <BR> <BR>Rex <BR>
