Paris Luxury Hotel
 

I'm taking my husband to Paris for our 15th.I want to splurge and need advice on what hotels would be best. <BR>Thanks,Sandra

Sandra--the Crillon, the George Cinq, or the Meurice are the 3 that come to mind in the ultra luxury splurge. <BR>Have been in a 1 bedroom suite in the Meurice and the living room is around 15X18! The bath comes with full size Christian Dior /or Hermes bath products--can remember exactly--but they were full size for you and your husband--they sent up champagne ( the real GOOD stuff) and fruit basket--absolutely amazing..If you book any of thes hotels, tell them it is your anniversary. They may have something special waiting in your room--heck-it's worth a try.

I know someone who has stayed at several of the top hotels in Paris, and they <BR>get absolutely gushy when they talk about the Bristol.

If you decide to do something less than the top of the line luxury hotels, you might want to consider Hotel Costes. Is is a smaller, more "in" type of hotel, but we stayed there for 9 days and were impressed. The decor is very over the top (Jacques Garcia) and the rooms, though not large, overlook the Italianate courtyard where the restaurant is. The pool is exquisite. We arrived there and went out for a while. When we returned, there was an excellent basket of exotic fruits and 2 dozen roses in our room. It is not "Old Paris" (the doormen do not wear uniforms, but black pants and shirts), but a very interesting place. Two years ago, our mid-range junior suite of 3 small rooms (sitting room, bedroom, bathroom - railroad style with 5 windows overlooking the courtyard) was $400.00 per night. stayed at the Four Seasons George V recently. Rooms were great, bathroom was beautiful. Am going back again in August.

We were in the George Cinq in July 2000. The rooms were all recently remodeled and very large. Service was great as was the location. It was an easy stroll to the Seine or the the Champs.
