I think all Paris public parks are closed at sunset, aren't they? They don't want people hanging out in parks in the dark.

The indoor activites I can thi k of are are fairly obvious, same as anywhere, I guess -- any museum or store or cafe or movie. I am not a big fan of the passages myself, but I'm not that interested in shopping or stores per se. They just are not something I'd call a big activity (the passages, I've been in a few). I would not recommend anyone go into the catacombs in winter, if they are even open, but I also do not consider them "fun", they are an ossuary for dead bodies. I think it is very disrespectful to refer to that as a lark or a "fun" activity, viewing dead people's bones. How would you like it if your ancestors or you yourself were exposed to tourists for "fun"?

Gracejoan...Would love to hook up with you one day, but not in this dread of a cold weather.

I'm glad I read this thread because not long after I read it, I went on expedia and booked... Buenos Aires...95 degrees...and will be flying out in a few weeks.

I was on line around 3AM, due to not being able to sleep that night, when a deal popped up. I always check expedia after midnight especially as that's when many reductions are loaded in the system.

I got a plane ticket from L.A. to Buenos Aires, on American Airlines, with a base price of around $557. rd. trip...$857.80 total with taxes!!! So, off I'm going. All the other fares are averaging $1700-$2240. I'd been checking for 4 or more days straight.

The next trip to Paris will be April. I've had that plane ticket for quite some time. Have fun! Stay warm. Happy Travels!

When I'm dead, I hope as many people as possible have a lot of fun laughing at my bones or whatever other detritus of me might still be hanging around, and enjoy as many laughs they can while they're alive. And they can laugh at my mother's bones too. It won't hurt her feelings. She'll be dead! Besides, it' s not like people's relatives are standing nearby in the catacombs. Those are very old bones.

Also, covered passages like St Anne's aren't about "shopping."

As someone elsc said, I don't "shop" in the Passages--they are just so beautiful to see and stroll through.
