How is Paris in November? It will be my husband and my first time. We know it's not the ideal time to go, but the trips are such a good deal! Also, has anyone used France Vacations.net? How was the experience? Thanks in advance for your advice!

I was there in early December once, and it was wonderful. Many of the trees along the Ile St.-Louis still had yellow leaves on them. We just got back from England and flew Air France. Had a great meal coming back! Also, good French champagne (in coach). There were few Americans on the plane, mostly French. The weather would be a factor, but it's generally milder than northern climes in the U.S. You could keep an eye on the world weather charts. But I'd go then. A wonderful side trip is a day trip (via train) to Chartres to see the cathedral, stroll through town and have lunch. I have not used France Vacations so can't comment.

Nancy, my wife and I were in Paris last Thanksgiving. Was rainy and cool mostly, with one extremely cold day (the day we happened to take a day trip to Chartres). We did alot of walking, and were rarely uncomfortable. <BR> <BR>But Paris is beautiful in the rain. In fact, it's beautiful in any weather. The rain did not dampen our experience one jot. <BR> <BR>Enjoy.

I agree. Paris is beautiful and enjoyable any time of the year. The first time I went there was in January, probably the most unfavorable time of year to visit any city, and I had a marvelous time. If it does rain, there are so many wonderful museums to visit, I'm sure you'll have a great time. <BR>Bon Voyage! <BR>

Has anyone stayed at the Waldorf Montparnasse in the 14th district? What are the best districts to stay in in Paris?

I was there last Nov and other than not being able to sit outside at some cafe's and more likelyhood of cold rain, it was uncrowded and just great. Enjoy!

We spent time in Paris over the Thanksgiving week last year (along with Belguim, Normandy, Loire valley) and found November to be a wonderful time to be there. It was cool, but not extremly cold, and some rain in the evenings. We found that layering worked best and we were happy to have some light gloves along. What was really nice was the absence of crowds and easy access to everything. We have always done Paris in off-season, but usally in very early spring like March. Either time is good. <BR> <BR>I expect that the crowds will be even lighter this year due to everyone holding off on travel. Should be nice and open. You might even get some real good deals on hotels etc. <BR> <BR>Bottom line is wear layers, take umbrella and light gloves, and have a ball.
