Paris - Hotel de L'Abbaye v. Madison Hotel
I will be in Paris on my own for only 2 days in September. I have been many times before. I love to stay in the 6th arr. For those of you who may be familiar with these two properties, which would you choose for a small, courtyard view room? I prefer a small property with character. While I have a slight preference for the location of the Madison, it looks a bit contemporary in style. Your thoughts?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Have not stayed at the Madison but have stayed several times at the Hotel de L'Abbaye. The L'Abbaye has a lot of character but classic rooms tend to be small, however this is the norm in Paris. The courtyard is lovely as are the reception rooms.

I LOVE l'Abbaye. I stayed at a different hotel in April and although it was a gorgeous "wow" hotel, I missed the Abbaye and I'll return. It feels like home. My rooms have been gorgeous and the staff and service are excellent. It's one of my favorite hotels anywhere. On my first visit, I was feeling "off" and ordered room service = tomato soup and a Croque Monsieur and they were so good I repeated it twice. This was a winter trip and it was great to explore all day and eat a big lunch and then come "home". I know it's a favorite of other Fodorites as well, who feel as connected to it as I.
