If you type the hotel name and the word "paris" into a search engine (like Yahoo), you will get a few hits. Here's a link to one website: http://www.cnit.com/sofitel.htm

This is a large, modern hotel in the La Defense district, which is a commericial/business area, and not particularly close to the tourist sights. However, the Metro is great, and you will find it easy enough to get to what you want to see and do. The ride to the center of things is probably about 20 minutes.

Go to http://www.sofitel.com/sofitel/index.html Then either enter the city, Paris, or the hotel code which is 3013. This is a 4 star hotel and should be very nice. I stayed at one in Minneapolis, Minn. about 20 years ago and it was great.

You can also check at http://www.parisavenue.com/ , they have some information on the Sofitel hotels in Paris.

I have been in the lobby of the Sofitel Hotel at Versailles and I was impressed.

I am sure you will enjoy your stay there. My only question is that La Grande Arche is not in the heart of Paris. Unless you have a reason for staying at the Grand Arche, you might consider being more centerally located.

Bon Voyage!

sorry to post a question to a question but since you're going to Paris in August, I was wondering if you got your airfare yet? I have been looking at flights in August as well and although I expected to pay alot since it is the peak season, I am finding that they are about 40% higher than last August. Did you have any luck getting a reasonable flight?
Thanks.
