Paris help!

We will be flying on Delta into CDG on Sunday morning at 8:00am. Thanks to Delta changing flights we will have from 8:00am until our flight leaves for Greece at 6:20pm on air France. Are there any fun places close by for lunch. We have both been there before, so any fun suggestions would help. PS we will each have 1 suitcase and with CDG no lockers, oh well. Any help would be great! PS how is traffic on Sunday. I figure we could have about 3 hours and leave town around 3:00. Sorry if I have posted this twice, as I am new to this. Thanks.

Assuming that you have to be back at the airport by 4:20 pm, you still have plenty of time to get into the city using the RER, a 25 minute ride. If you cannot find lockers in CDG, you should be able to find some at the Gare du Nord, although it would be more conveninet for you to get off at Saint-Michel and enjoy the Quartier Latin and the Ile de la Cité during your brief stay.

Hayden,

I had this same experience a couple of years ago. I believe that I was able to check my luggage through (even though their were two different airlines) and we took the RER into Paris for lunch and a visit to Notre Dame. Just be very careful about returning. We somehow got on the wrong line going back and had a hectic running thing to make our flight.

Thank you for the help. How safe are the train station lockers?

Isn't this entire flight under the same air carrier? I know Delta/AF code share to Paris, so I am assuming this is really an AF flight on both legs. If so, they should check your bags through, in my experience to other places on AF (although not Greece) and you shouldn't have them with you. That also gives you a little more time on the return, as you should only need to be there about 4:30-5.

We will have a similar problem on our return from Paris in NYC. We come in on American about 2:30pm and leave on Jet Blue at 8pm. What can we do with our bags? Will Jet Blue let us check them that early?

I don't want to take on that whole check/don't check debate. But if it makes the difference with having to deal with your luggage, then why not just check them and enjoy your afternoon in Paris.

I see -- well it is a debate then, because I check that size for convenience in the airport and in transit. It's possible they won't let you carry it on, though, AF is pretty stingy about that. Most suitcases that size won't really fit in the sizing templates unless they are underpacked. I haven't flown Delta in a long time so don't know their rules, but I thought it was usually AF to CDG even when you book through Delta (it is from where I live, but that may be different).

Oh, traffic is light on Sunday, that's no problem. I have gone to/from CDg several times on a Sunday and it's easy.

Thank you thank you. We will check out size and carry on before we leave, so if they make us check that is easy. If not The train station sounds like the best bet. Thank you all so kindly it helps alot, as last time I was there I was in college. If you had just three hours in the city where would you spend it?
