Paris First Week of April

I'll be in Paris from April 3 - 10. Should I expect lots of things to be closed at this time...someone told me this was a major "holiday" week in Paris?? Also, can anyone give me an idea of what type of weather to expect so I'll know what types of clothes to pack.

That is not a major holiday week in France, someone is giving you bad information. Even Christmas week things are open and the town is bustling.

Who knows what the weather will be. I've been in Feb and wore just a sweater but have needed a jacket in May. Pack layers

I was there last year during the last week of March and first week of April. It got noticeably milder in April with lovely sunny days. I had a raincoat so I could layer things under it when it got cooler.

We were in Paris the first week of April in 2007 and it was a regular week, just like everywhere else. However, there were so many on spring break that things like the Eiffel Tower were absolutely swamped---worst I've ever seen it.

We are going to try to visit the Eiffel Tower on Friday, April 3. I'm hoping it won't be quite as busy as it will be all the next week when many are on Spring Break.

You'll be there just in time to be greeted by the daffies in Jardin du Luxembourg. Plan some time for long walk through the park.
