WOW! I am going on vacation next week (Sept 19) and I just booked my airline and a hotel yesterday. Talk about last minute! I couldn't make up my mind so I decided to go back to Paris (for the 7th time) to eat and shop and try Copenhagen for a new city. I ended up doing 5 days Paris and 3 days Copenhagen.

I got my flight using frequent flyer miles. I booked thru United and used 80,000 for Biz class seats. My flights are Newark-Dusseldorf on Lufthansa, connecting on Lufthansa cityline to Paris. My flight to Copenhagen from Paris is on SAS and my return to Newark is also SAS. I looked on the websight and that is a $6,500.00 ticket and all I pay is $99!

The best part is that the Lufthansa flight ot Europe is the new "all business class" flights operated by Privatair. It's on a small A320 and it is suppose to be super luxurious.

I am staying at The Square hotel in Copenhagen which I got a great discounted rate of $102 a night. It looks really cool and modern and is in the city center near the Town Hall. Look >>> http://www.arp-hansen.dk/square/square01.html

I still haven't found a room for Paris so if anyone has any ideas for a room at $100 or less let me know. Its going to be hard and I may have to play the Priceline ticket!

I would also appreciate any info on Copenhagen shopping, restaurtants and sights!

I suggest you start by going to the Copenhagen destination page on Fodors. Then do a search for Copenhagen and/or Denmark.

Hi Richard, congrats on the Bizclass deal. Dusseldorf is a much nicer airport than Frankfort. Let us know if your flight to Paris takes you into the new terminal and tell us what it's like.

If you prowl the Ostergade shopping area, stop in a Cafe Victor, Ny
Ostergade 8; (45) 33 13 36 13. It serves one of the best cappuccinos I've had in Europe. I didn't eat there, but it had an interesting menu and not too expensive. Nice atmosphere. An upscale crowd of shoppers (mostly Danes) and staff from the nearby chic stores.

Hope you have time to see the Glypotek and can get a table in the very attractive cafe there.

Yes I know! I am now concerned. As of this morning they have added New Jersy to the watch list and predict it hitting at the end of the week. Ahhh, you cant change the weather but i can always change my travel plans!

richardab, what part of "start" don't you understand. There are a number of threads within the past three months on Copenhagen and Denmark and it is not a very big board so I didn't think the suggestion was onerous. Modesty forbids mentioning that some were mine.

Thank you, dear. Please be sure I have looked at the threads in great detail. Along with all the helpful info you also get a wealth of surveys, unncecessay comments and assorted other crap. Who died and left you the board police? If you dont't have anything helpful to say then don't answer my requests. There are always new people, new experiences and new restaurants on a weekly basis in every city. There also many people who recently returned from summer holidays. I am simple lookiing for the lastest info.

Did you ever realize that if everyone simply searched the threads and never asked a question that there would never be any new info except for those stupid surveys, "I wish" and "If you could live anywhere...." threads which are simply useless?

On the good news front, you can be glad you weren't trying to fly into Dusseldorf yesterday--they had a bomb threat (no bomb found, probably a hoax), had to clear out the airport and 130 flights had to land at other airports. What a headache! Have you got a Paris hotel yet? Did you see the story in the NYTimes about the Segway scooter tours of Paris. What a hoot...I wouldn't mind taking one of them myself.
