I obviously had no idea you couldn't take picures of certain places/buildings. I'd hoped to get some great pictures of Versaille, Chantilly, pont neuf and Concierge area, Eiffel at night, and Notre Dame. How can I find out which places are off limits. I do not want to violate any rules; ignorance is not a defense. I am not a professional, but avid amateur.

St-Cloud is in the 16th. Besides the train you can also Metro.

You can forget La Samaritaine which has been closed for several years and won't reopen for another 5 years.
