paris apt help needed

Hello,

My family (4 adults) are planning to go to France for 2 weeks, and we are planning to spend a week in Paris.

I was thinking of renting an apartment and I found one through pariattitude.com. However I could not find any reviews on this apartment (Link : http://www.parisattitude.com/apartme...mProduit=7438#).

I would really appreciate any input on location and the rental agency. If anyone has stayed in this apartment and could share their experience that would be great!

Looking forward to your replies!

Thank you,

Divya.

I haven't used it but have read a couple positive comments on it here on Fodors over several years. A lot of people on Fodors won't use them because they want American agencies or ones that are more touchy-feely or expensive. It is basically a French service that is a middleman between renter and landlord and do the contracts and things, but doesn't provide any service at the apt. YOu are really renting from the landlord. I rented from a similar agency (lodgis.fr) and had no problem, I liked it and that agency was very professional with the contracts and followup.

But if you want handholding etc it may not be for you. Just be aware of what it is. They also have a large requirement for the deposit, that's the biggest negative, if you are staying for any time as it is related to the rent. Lodgis.fr did also by it is really up to the individual landlord, they can waive it, which mine did. You tend to get some cheaper places on these kind of websites which are French, and a much larger variety and in all areas of Paris (versus ones like VIP,parisperfect, etc.).

Input as to the location? I suggest you get a map if you don't have one and are definitely going to Paris. It is convenient enough, of course, being fairly central and near a metro stop. I'm not crazy about that area, but that's personal. Funny you should ask as some thread recently was raving about that general area, you might read that thread (some reference to the second arrondisement).

IMO, I'd stay closer to the Seine. The apt. looks nice and the price is good, but it's just not the are I would choose.

There a alot of apt.'s out there, Id keep looking.

I am sorry I did not see these replies at all! But thank you for your help. I ultimately went with an apartment in the Marais listed through Airbnb
