dmlove, it happened to a mother's friend's daughter, a long time ago. Can't you feel your leg being pulled?

dmlove...I was at my mom's house not long after she'd gotten the news and she was very upset. As for newspaper articles, I have no idea about that. I wasn't interested in that. I had more important things to do like calm my mom. She was upset for quite some time afterwards. Happy Travels!

As am I (Guenmai, I don't doubt at all that your mother was very upset and you needed to tend to her, but I am skeptical about the veracity of the kidney robbery part of the story).

IMO this is the silliest post I have read as yet.

Enjoy Europe, and just be as careful as you would be in New York , Chicago, or L.A.

Whatever...be skeptical. But as some folks that I've known, who've been through some really strange things, would say, "Stuff happens" no matter how unbelievable it may sound. Happy Travels!

Let's be honest: kidney theft is venerated by the French. Many of you are doubtless aware of the classic French film, "Le Voleur de Rognon," starring Sophie Poumons and Gerard Foie.

Is that why it is so common on bistro menus?

You guys are so silly. You don't believe in this happening? It happens in every third world country and/or culture a wary traveler is either afraid of or can't afford to visit.

Don't you know that Hollywood is the no-spin truth of life?

Didn't you all see Turistas?

Just joshin'.

The kidney thing happened to me. No, one wasn't taken out while I was drugged, an extra one was inserted. (No doubt it came from some luckless apartment renter...) Anyway, this explains why I constantly need to find a bathroom while travelling.
