Paris apartment 3 - 6 months

I'm looking for a rental or sublet for 3 - 6 months. I welcome any suggestions. Do not want to be outside of Paris. Prefer St. Germain or Montparnesse, but not essential.
also, I would be willing to do a home exchange. (palm beach, florida) does anyone have any experience with this, or ideas about it?
I heard that short-term rentals are about to become illegal, as per NYC. Does anyone have any info on that?
Thank you.

You do realize that you will need a French visa for your stay.

I haven't done a home exchange but know there are several well-established companies that do that, and you need to review them and sign up with them). I think homelink is one, but you can probably find them. I'm not sure how well it would work if you have very specific time periods you want, but you never know.

I read some post on here about some rental laws changing in Paris, I think, but I don't think it literally made ST rentals illegal, they just had to be regulated and licensed, and the owners had to pay the appropriate taxes or something.

Yes, I hope you have the appropriate visa, because if you're a U.S. citizen, you're limited to 90 days in Europe. I'd start with French newspaper ads and go online with De Particulier à Particulier.

St Cirq - About a Schengen Visa..... We got ours on Friday from the French Consulate in Johannesburg and it was valid for 6 months. You have got me wondering if we can stay that length of time or will be limited to a certain number of days requiring a person to exit France and then re-enter to complete another say 90 days?

Hi, tod. If you got a multiple-entry Schengen visa, you can leave and return as often as you like within the 6-month period, but your combined total in Schengen countries cannot exceed 90 days.

So no, you can't stay for more than 90 days without some other kind of visa, whether or not you leave and return.

Why did you get one?

Looks like Todd is So African. Probably different visa agreements. For the US it is 90 days out of 180. And there is no start over.
