If you are about equidistant from Ecole Militaire and Lamotte Picquet, there are bus lines within a few blocks. I based my post on that from a number of times staying in that quadrant of the absolutely HUGE HUGE 7eme. I don't really give a rat's . Why can't people be allowed to comment without being told they are stupid. Or is it only the residents and those considering themselves to be semi-residents who are allowed to give the definitive word.
The bus lines that serve there go to Gare du Nord, the Eiffel Tower, Montparnasse, even to the flea market (not clingnancourt--the fun one).
At least we opened up the conversation about buses.
I don't happen to care for the Marais, but I don't mind if others love it.

Thank you ggreen for catching my typo. But at the Pages Jaunes you used to be able to walk up and down a street and turn the corner, seeing all the shops, restaurants along the way. Maybe the address I picked -- on a kind of alley that's the site of our proposed apartment rental -- doesn't have much of that stuff.

Such a great debate, I love it! My family is little help - "we'll like whatever you pick." And my daughter wants "the one with the pink flowers" (on the table)-- no amount of talk will convince her that the pink flowers might not be there! I think I am following my heart and going with the 7e. I was sad that my daughter never was awake or we were too far away to see the eiffel tower twinkle. At this location, we won't be able to miss it-- and let's face it, to a little one, the Eiffel Tower is Paris.
I am sure I will have lots more questions, not the least of which is where to go in Paris on Easter Sunday!
Thank you much,
Kate
ps-- love Pages Jaune-- will definitely be exploring that some more!

Mimar, as you said maybe it's the alley that's the problem? Since I haven't had to use Pages Jaunes for actual research in a while, I usually put in an address I know off the top of my head. I get the photos of that address and adjacent, and what it looks like opposite the address. Maybe try an address on a more major street adjacent, then "walk" until you get to your alley?
