I'd be interested to know what you find is different or has changed since your visit 30 years ago... and maybe how your view on Paris has changed after you go there again in May.

You have a nice start to trip plans...
If you are there on a Sunday, visit the Bastille outdoor market and the Marais in general.
You could possibly do the d'Orsay in the morning, then go to Rodin (it is small) and also enjoy the lovely gardens there.
There are Seine cruises departing from either the tip of Ile de Cite, or at the foot of the Eiffel (in case you wanted to combine with your Eiffel T. visit).
When you go to the Champs, start at the Arc de Triomphe (fun to watch the traffic circle) then it's a downhill walk to Place de la Concorde.

We did the Fat Tire Bike Tour first thing after arriving. We had just come by train from London so it was nice to be out and moving around. The tour was well worth it. We stopped and saw so many sights and it helped give me a lay out of the area. Also we knew what we wanted to see more of later. I, too, had not been to Paris is 20+ years. This was the first time for my two children. We enjoyed it! We also rented bikes at Versailles and rode back in the back which was lovely to see!

Definitely do the bike tour. I have done several tours with this company - walking, biking and Segway and loved each and everyone. I highly recommend them.
