From SS to Atxondo you must get to Bilbao or Durango first (that´s very easy), and then take the bus to Elorrio, running every half hour. I worked near Atxondo for over a year and followed this bus many times.
You´ll be at a beautiful spot in the heart of the Basque Country, and one of the best and simplest restaurants in Spain. You may want to visit my blog, http://mugalari.wordpress.com for some info on the area.

I loved my stay at the Parador in La Granja! The palace, gardes and fountains reminfd me of Versailles but on a smaller scale. The flowers are just beautiful. I always take the bus to Segovia from Madrid and then at the same place check on the next bus to La Granja. It will leave a few minutes walk to the Parador. The breakfast is wonderful!
My room was huge as was the bathroom and their toiletries are great!
