Hi Carla
Just got back from Palermo where we stayed at the hotel La Posta for almost two weeks. Family run, La Posta is considered an "economy" hotel or two star and is centrally located on block north of Via Roma ib Via A.Gagini, 77, Tel.+39 091 587338, Fax. +39 091 587347, email, [email protected]. I especially liked the location because it was easy to walk to just about any destination in Palermo of interest to a tourist. I also like the atmosphere as the hotel is a favorite of actors and performers at the major theaters and opera houses. La Posta was very clean with up to date furnishings and state of the art plumbing as well a cheerful staff and a continental breakfast served by a most delightful young woman. We also stayed at a B&B "Ai Cartari" (www.aicartari.it) for a week over in the "historic district". Further toward the port near the Piazza Marina there is the hotel Letizia (via dei Bottai 30, Tel./Fax 091-589110 , www.hotelletizia.com email, [email protected] that is considered a 1 star with a single running about 63 euro. We did look at the rooms which were furnished in Sicilian Primitive but decided against staying there because all the rooms were located on the 3rd floor of the palazzo which had no elevator. For more hotel information try the Azienda Autonoma Provinciale per l'Incremento Turistico: http://www.palermotourism.com or email them: [email protected]
