Palazzo Schifanoia in Ferrara vs. Venaria Reale in Turin

Hello again,

I just read that Palazzo Schifanoia in Ferrara just re-opened after some renovation. Has anyone been to either or both of these Palaces mentioned above? If so what are your thoughts on each? The frescoes are supposed to be marvelous here. I am wondering how this palace compares to others you may have been to and thought were impressive.

From what I read the "hunting lodge" Venaria Reale just outside of the center of Turin was the inspiration for Versailles Palace in France because of their extensive gardens and water features. The Palace itself is supposed to be quite empty inside except for the elaborate ceilings. There is supposed to be some sort of video animation and wall panels describing its history in the basement. Does it compare well to Versailles Palace and gardens? Or does it pale in comparison? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

I enjoyed the Ferrara from the outside but felt the inside was a bit lacking in content when I visited it. I understand that the interior changes a fair bit (contents not the walls obviously). I preffered to visit the old walls the cathedral and the small medievel city area but the palace does dominate everything.

I've not been to Turin so I cannot compare
