If you like sushi, right there in the station is Itsu, a conveyor belt type sushi resto. Not high end, but tasty.

as you are at Paddington, you have a number of choices within a few stops of this station. there are also some interesting restaurants if you walk in the general direction of Portobello Road from the station (I don't recall the road name specifically but I could point it out for you! it's a main road though)

Angela,

We stayed at the Quality Hotel Paddington earlier this year. It is approx. 5 min. walk to Paddington Station. It sits off the main road on Talbot Square. We enjoyed the small hotel, staff was very friendly & accommodating. We always felt safe in the Paddington area. There are many restaurants in the area, however, I can't remember any names, sorry!

There are a number of hotels within 3 minutes of Paddington on Norfolk Square. We stayed at the Falcon but I would recommend the Cardiff Hotel I think - a search on google with cardiff and norfolk square will find it, or try hotels and norfolk square and london for a listing of more. It's a nice tree lined square, and quiet - something you don't usually find near a station.

Just about any type of cuisine is available within just a few short blocks of Paddington. On Praed St. is a lovely Indian place with good service - Indus Delta. Dinner for two with wine ran less than 30 pounds for us.

On London St. are Garfunkel's, an American style coffee shop with pretty decent food (credit cards accepted), the Deep Dish Pizza place, which offers a 4.95 pound all-you-can-eat pizza/pasta buffet (credit cards accepted here, too), Niki Taverna (Greek), Sussex Arms pub (fun place for fish and chips and a beer - very close to a fish and chips stand). At the station is Mad Bishop and Bear, a more upscale pub that serves food and has (oh joy!) a nonsmoking area.

In other words, there are lots of places to eat. We stayed at Balmoral House, 156 Sussex Garden. Double with en suite shower and WC, and full English breakfast, was 65 pounds.
