London Hotel Near Paddington Station

my father is coming to the UK. he needs a good, boutique type hotel. he will be using paddington train station several times during his visit. he also needs internet access at the hotel (wireless would be great). looking around the $200 - $250 price (£90-120) any suggestions? i've found leonard & lennox but they're nowhere near paddington. is the paddington area nice? (ie will there be some restaurants open at night, place to get a pint, etc). thanks in advance!

I can’t help with hotels but I can answer the question about area. Paddington is fine. It’s a reasonably up-market areas with some dingy bits, especially around Paddington Basin. But even those aren’t too bad. It’s not really a tourist area, but there are plenty of decent pubs and places to eat.

Put it his way, Tony and Cherie Blair’s private house is there.
