Packing for 3 weeks in Turkey
We will leave late April and be there until mid-May. Starting in Istanbul then on to Cappadocia, then Gallipoli and the Aegean Coast. Will have a couple of days in a resort in Gocek, then three nights on a gulet out of Bodrum. I am a terrible packer. We will be dining in some nice restaurants, the resort is nice, and the gulet will be too. I am in my early 60s and active. I am hardly a fashionista but I do try to be presentable. So any suggestions regarding clothes and shoes would be so appreciated.

Shoes:
- memory foam walkers for Istanbul and Cappadocia (no sandals)
- sandals, flip flops for Gocek and flights
- barefoot for gulet but rubber sea shoes if interested in swimming ashore to rocks or sand.
- One nice outfit for that special evening & dinner in Istanbul (not in Sultanahmet) and also for one of the Gocek nights. (shoes for that?)
- Light hoody, packable rainproof windbreaker for any precipitation in Istanbul and Gallipoli and for colder Cappadocia.
- light sweater, cardigan, sweat or similar for Cappadocia and for possible cool Istanbul evening.
- Jeans or safari pants for Cappadocia and Gallipoli
- shorts for Gocek and Gulet
- 3 swim suits (pairs of bikinis)
- sports socks for walking in Cappadocia
You can find almost anything in Turkey easily. Shops stay open late and there will always be one pharmacy open 24 hours in every district.
If you chance upon a weekly market in any touristic town, you will find very good bargains for sports wear, pajamas, Tees sweats, tights, pashminas, etc.
Pharmacies will sell most standard drugs without a prescription, including antibiotics and at fraction of United States or Canada costs. I recommend antihistamines against possible allergies because you will be in Turkey during pollen season.
If you are driving for any period, and like animals, please buy some cat and dog food at a supermarket because this will be the season when the strays may have litters and need extra nourishment. You will see them (usually, the cats) in vicinity of simple restaurants and sometimes at unexpected locations.

Thank you. Will certainly look at Chico's travel line. Great suggestions, otherchelebi, especially for the specific time of year and places. I will have to look up memory foam walkers (I'm thinking this would be a substitute for the hiking shoes I had planned to take?)and safari pants as I don't know what either of those really are and certainly the idea of me in a bikini again made me chuckle. But I won't inflict that on others at this stage. What about skirts that are "at" the knee? Is that frowned on? Also, for the gulet and resort, are shorts okay? Great point about allergy meds.

shorts are fine at all seaside resorts and on and just off boat. You should expect daytime temperatures in the upper 70s some days reaching low 80s and sea temperatures about 65-70 in early May at Gocek and gulet route. That is too cold for me to take a dip but DW likes it.
Skechers has very reasonably priced memory foam or similar slip-ons and sneakers. Their sandals may also have memory foam.
Merrel has also very comfortable walking shoes some with memory foam but twice as expensive as Sketchers.
Safari type pants shirts and jackets are usually light cotton canvas in tan hues with shirts and jackets having extra pockets useful while traveling.
Skirts are fine except at Cappadocia where you may wish to make some simple and moderate climbs up steps and paths to interesting churches and cave homes or walk where thistle grows.
