Outlet shopping in Florence

I heard that there are some good designer outlets near Florence -- I would appreciate any feedback, including the information on how to get there and if the deals are really worth it

Here's a link to an article describing the designer mall near Milan:

Yes yes yes - the oulets are fabulous and there are good deals if you hit them when there is a promotion.

Case in point: I got YSL shoes for 30 Euros. They were originally > 170 Euros.

Does anyone have the address or directions for the outlets outside Florence? I haven't been able to find it anywhere. We will be in Florence next weekend on...
Thanks, Heather

You can take the SITA bus to the outlets, they run at 9am and 12pm daily. Fromthe main outlets, you can take a taxi to the Fendi outet for about 10 Euro roundtrip. To getto the Prada outlet, you have to take the train to Montevarchi, and then a taxi to the outlets.

Both are about 20-30 miles south of Florence off the A1.

The Mall, as it is called, is clearly marked from the highway exit. About 10 minutes. Zegna, Armani, Gucci and others. Nice cafe for lunch.

Prada is very difficult to find. It is not marked, and is hidden behind an industrial complex. I have yet to meet someone who has been able to find this on their first try.

Both had extraordinary sales...while selection is limited, you can get things for 80% off what you'ld pay in the US.

I'd rent a car for the day. I've also heard about various bus tours. trying typing in florence outlet mall in your search engine.

Ciao
