Judy, I am so pleased to have found your TR! We are thinking of going to Spain next Fall (last time there was 30 years ago!). Hubby will be retiring (???) and we hope to go for several weeks. You have given us a confirmation of our choice of destination, so many great ideas! Thank you. Hope you get to finish.

It's been several months since I last added to my Spain TR -- and yet, even after these many months, I can still recall the magic that is Barcelona.

Our last 2 days in Barcelona were spent touring, first, all the Gaudi sights. We visited Casa Mila -- stunning, simply stunning. Especially the views from the roof.

We also did a Rick Steves walking tour of Eixample, I highly recommend all of the walking tours in his Spain books because they offer glimpses of the uniqueness of Spain (in this case, Barcelona) that you would otherwise overlook.

We spent the rest of our next to last day in Barcelona just walking -- we walked from Casa Mila all the way back to our hotel. It took hours and I just loved every single minute!

So you are back to "top off" your report of travels last spring. Mezquita, Alcazar, flamencos and more...all indeed wonderful. Sounds like you weren't in Madrid? Didn't get to Barcelona as you did. DW and I returned from recent traveling in Madrid and Andalucia and Portugal. Yes, Ronda was interesting. We were with a GCT group that included some friends and very much enjoyed our journey. Hope to write up a report myself soon.

Did not spend any time at all in Madrid -- hope to do that on my next trip to Spain, along with Toledo and points north.

I think we're heading to Portugal in 2015, haven't been there since 2010 and it's time to visit my motherland again!

I have now read your TR in one sitting! Thanks for doing this, I know how time-consuming it is. What I particularly love about your report is the emotion and joy with which shines through. Thanks also for all the details about places and prices!

Planning to take an extended trip (my first) to Spain in the next few months. I've found your report very informative and have taken lots of notes of places you recommend. It was a fascinating read. Thanks for taking the time to share.

Loved reading your trip report of Barcelona! Four of us are going there next September, plus Lisbon, Porto and a river cruise of the Douro. Will be retracing many of your steps. (love your sense of humor too!)

Yes, I remember reading this with great interest before our trip last October, it was very helpful to me when I was planning. For those of you planning your trip for this year, I'm sure you will love Spain as we did. We visited Barcelona, Seville, Cordoba and Ronda. We enjoyed it so much, we're taking in Madrid, Toledo and Segovia before heading to Italy this fall - can't wait.

Judy_Rosa - we almost chose Porto and the Duoro Valley over Italy. Looks beautiful. We'll have to make it there some day and visit Lisbon and other destinations in Portugal as well.

What an amazing detailed trip! Will be in Spain in July for 5 days with a friend and hoping to visit Barcelona, Cordoba, Granada and Seville. How and whats the best way to enjoy these cities? We're flying from London to Barcelona and maybe fly off from Seville. Please help!!
