Our day with Michael Osman

Our trip was delayed a day due to weather. I was able to email Michael from the airport and advise hin of the change. We were pleasantly surprised that Michael was available and met us in our hotel shortly after we arrivedthe following day.

He knew that this was the first time in Paris for 2 young ladies traveling with us. We took the Metro, bus and walked a loop around and through Paris. We saw all "the sights" and more: the roof of Galleries Lafayette, Place Vendome, Louvre, Notre Dame, Champs Elysees, Ile St Louis, St Suplice church, Moulin Rouge, Montmartre. We went into places that I would never think of like the main branch of Societie Generale Bank. We stopped for coffee/hot chocolate twice and eat lunch on the run (baquette and cheeses) What could be better! Michael's narration was very special. His history lesson was like a family member telling old stories.

Could we ever have fit all this into one day on our own? No way. We left our hotel at 10AM and were back in the lobby at 8PM.

We had Dinner at a neighborhood bistro and tucked ourselves in. We did the D'orsay, Eiffel tower and shopping on our own. We had arrangements for the fashion show at Galleries Lafayette on Tuesday.

We were in Paris for only 3 days and Michael's day was tailor made for us. He is a very likeable young man with a great deal of history and art knowledge.

Yes, he is wonderful. We had some very stressful circumstances surrounding our tour with Michael and he handled it like a champ. Isn't the Bank a hoot! They wouldn't let us take pictures thought.

Rhonda, The Societie General Bank, main branch, is located next to the Opera, Metro OPERA. They do not allow pictures to be taken as this is a working bank that just happens to be beautiful. We were able to get brochures that have drawings of this branch. The architecture is that of the Eiffel Tower: all steel and steel mesh that is covered with beautiful glass. The design has allowed for all natural light. There are balcony levels. We just walked through the main level. There is a model of the building off to one side of the lobby.

If you are in the area: Opera house or Galeries Lafayette, it is definitely worth the stop in.

This is a nice post for a nice guy. I'm so happy you like him, only one negative post has been here and only by someone who had a friend in the same business.
