I am preparing to travel to Europe on the 27th of May. I plan on visiting Paris for a couple of days and am interested in booking lodging. Have any of you ever dealt with a website entitled, "www.lodgingfrance.com" ? They have excellent rates. Also, are there any areas in Paris to avoid for lodgings? Thanks for any advice offered.

yes, there are areas to avoid as in any big city. Some just because they are far out, some not as nice. In general, if you book in arrondisements 1-8, you'll be fine. Some parts of others would be okay too, but it's not easy to explain.

Most hotels now have email. I don't know about that booking site, but you can search for the email addresses of any hotels youa re interested in and also try to email them directly. Form my experience, the hotels tend to be very responsive and offer good rates.

I have used hrs.de almost exclusively for our up coming trip to Europe. Just pick your language and your dates and destination. Gives you all the info you need plus pictures, CC accepted, distances even a map. It will even show special prices.

florida_dee, if you want to try HRS, use hrs.de (German) or hrs.com (French) and choose the language you want. You can't do de.com together.
