Online currency Purchase

I always like to take a few hundred dollars in currency for each country and have always used chace currency to go. I just logged on to their website to purchase for our upcoming trip and the message says>> Due to WTC tragedy we are not accepting new orders.

Does anyone have any other source of ONLINE currency purchasing sites?

JOdy,
Try this.

http://www.foreign-currency.com

I tried my old standby, Oanda, but something's going on there & when you select "order currency", it's taking FOREVER to load, so try the one above first before trying Oanda.

BC

I just got lira thru oanda.com via Thomas Cook. It was delivered via Fedex to my door in 48 hours. I usually prefer using Chase, but they are down.

Why don't you get it at an ATM at the airport when you arrive? Lot cheaper.

And Bob the nav, since you go to Italy often, why don't you bring back Lira to the states with you for your next trip.Much cheaper than worrying about the interest you might lose on this money.

Thanks, guys! I just pruchased some lire on oanda. It was so easy. I hope to use on the ATM when I'm there, but it's always nice to come to a country with cash in hand.

Actually, I do get my cash at the ATM when I arrive--the best option. However, this time my wife will be with four other women and will need to pay for the shuttle in cash. I cannot risk the ATM being out so I got her a minimum amount just in case. I am coming in thru CH and Liguria and will meet her in Lucca after her 10 days with the girls. I will get my CHF at the ATM, of course. Give me some credit Jack. I was merely trying to help Vita.

Thanks Bob and Bookchick,

Used oanda , with no problems. The Problem at chase is their hdg. for currency to go was in the WTC.

Jack- I do use the ATM's but after a long flight I am dirty, crabby and tired of standing in line to exit plane, go thru Immigration, go thru customs, probably having to stand in line for a taxi, so eliminating looking for the machine and most likely stading in line at the ATM is worth the little money I save.

I was wondering now if you wouldn't rather not purchase extra Lira since they will be going to Euros next year. M.

I used skyteller.com for currency I recently purchased for my trip to the UK. When I ordered there was free overnight shipping if you spent $500 USD or more.
