OneTravel.com-Warning
Don't trust OneTravel.com.
We had written confirmation from them for car rental in Italy at 116 Euro per week. The car rental agency (Europcar) refused to acknowledge that rate. It cost us over 4 times the agreed upon price!
Don't trust OneTravel.com. Deal directly with the car rental agency. They had us by the "short hairs."

I know OneTravel is tied into a number of other companies - CheapSeats.com and AirTreks are two that I know of. So, I know they're not a small outfit.
Europcar didn't stand behind the really low rate that OneTravel was offering. I agree it sounds like from what you're saying that OneTravel is in the wrong.
We know Europcar's response, but just out of curiousity, what was OneTravel's response to you having a written confirmation and a refusal of the agency to honor it? What was the reaction of your credit card company?

Way too little information here to know the real story. This is rcsruffy's one and only ever post on Fodors. Seems strange that someone who has never been on Fodors before would be in such a panic to warn everyone off onetravel.com.
Something fishy - or maybe just too little info.

What's that, Janis? You claim to actually know that a particular contributor's message is their first and only one, ever, on the entire Fodor talksite? It worries me to think people CAN know such a thing, let alone that they think it worth going to the trouble of finding it out. Tony

And it looks like you, twoflower, have posted 28 messages! Click on your name (typed in blue) and a list of them will appear on the left hand side of your screen. We have no secrets here!
Actually that capability is a useful way to read responses to threads to which you've recently posted. I click on my user name at the very top of the page every day to see what's happening on threads that I've added to.
